The City of Ottawa’s Better Homes Ottawa program is excited to offer another round of net zero training in collaboration with Homesol Buildings Solutions and the Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association

Please note: The Advanced Building Science course is a pre-requisite to the Net Zero Builder training. The Advanced Building Science needs to be successfully completed with a 75%+ score prior to taking this course.

This training is open to Ottawa-area residential building professionals (including trades, home renovators, and home builders) and will support the City’s goals of increasing the rate of retrofits across Ottawa’s small residential building stock. Those who complete all sections of the training will be featured on the Better Homes Ottawa website.

Are you interested in offering your clients the opportunity to renovate their homes to ‘the ultimate in comfort and efficiency? In this course, participants learn the latest developments on approaches to Net Zero/Ready renovations focused on ensuring customer comfort and satisfaction.

Attendees will review the Net Zero/Ready design principles, equipment options, emerging technologies, and construction practices and learn to identify effective strategies to renovate existing homes to Net Zero performance levels. This course reflects the advancements in technology and innovations in the Canadian housing industry.

An exam at the end of the course is designed to confirm that participants have learned the key Net Zero Renovation material, the passing grade is 75%.

Net Zero Reno Training Course fee: $50.00 + HST per participant.
